Heather Mortimer poses with the Kemp Ridley Sea Turtles Release of 1429LK, known as Beauregard. Beauregard is the first to be released stranded along Cape Cod on 11/22/14 as a cold stunned turtle and was transferred to the National Aquarium on 12/5/14. Beauregard was treated for pneumonia, shell lesions, and a severe flipper joint lesion during rehab at NA. Gained 6.5 pounds while in rehab. Kemp's Ridley Sea Turtles are the most endangered and the smallest of all the sea turtle species, which makes them particularly vulnearable to severe changes in water temperature. | September 11, 2015
